“I love thread - threads of any size, any color have appealed to me since childhood. My first sewing project was in Brownie Scouts and I knew immediately that sewing was not what I wanted to do, but over the years I have found other ways to use the many threads that have appeared in my hands: knitting, weaving, needlepoint and embroidery are the main avenues I travel, and these days they seem to intertwine. “Color is the fuel that propels all my work. Sometimes it is a reflection of the world around me, and sometimes it seems to well up inside me. “Living in Crayola Land” would be a good description of how I feel when I’m in my studio, surrounded by cones and balls of all the colors of the rainbow as well as a myriad of lends and betweens that make working at my loom a never-ending story.” |

Scarves and shawls are my mainstay, usually in rayon chenille but I also weave with Tencel and bamboo. All three fibers yield a lustrous, luxurious fabric with a beautiful “hand.” Finely turned edges and hand-knotted fringe are all marks of my work. I weave one-of-a-kind items and I do limited production (6-12) of theirs. I’m happy to take orders for scarves and shawls and also for table runners. |
